Baked Apples -Four- *Vegetarian*
Additional Items Needed:
- 4 Large Apples, washed
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar
- ½ Cup Chopped Nuts
- 1/4 Cup Raisins
- 1 Slice of Bread (crust removed), cubed
- 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
- 4 Tbsp. Butter (1 for each apple)
- 1 Tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/4 Tsp. Salt
- 8X8 Microwave-Safe Baking Dish
- Medium Mixing Bowl
- Microwave-Safe Cover
Slice the tops off of the apples.
Use a spoon scoop out the cores and seeds, hollow out most of the apple.
In the mixing bowl mix together the brown sugar, nuts, bread, raisins, cinnamon, salt and maple syrup.
Place the apples in the baking dish & stuff 1/4 of the mixture into the apples filling their holes.
Top each apple with a tablespoon of butter.
Cover with the microwave-safe cover.
Caution! The dish will be hot.
The chopped nuts we used was a mixture of walnuts & pecans.
The apples used were red delicious.
